Fort Saskatchewan RCMP seeks assistance in an attempted child luring investigation

Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. –Fort Saskatchewan RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male who attempted to lure a child into his vehicle.  

On Aug. 5, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a 6-year-old girl was playing at a park along Southpoint Boulevard, when she was approached by a male driving a red truck. The male driver tried to lure the girl into his vehicle. The girl returned home and was unharmed. 

A similar incident occurred on July 30, 2026, sometime in the afternoon hours, a 9-year-old boy was on the walking trail near Davis Street, when he was approached by a male driving a red truck. The male tried to lure the boy into his vehicle. The boy made his way to safety unharmed.

Both incidents took place in the Southfort neighbourhood near the Ken Hodgkins Park in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. 

These incidents are currently under investigation by Fort Saskatchewan RCMP, and police are requesting assistance from the public. If you have video surveillance (doorbell, cameras, or dashcam footage) between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2026, in the area of Allard Way, Dittrich Avenue, Davis Street, Durrand Bend or Southpoint Boulevard., please contact the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP.
