Lloydminster RCMP lays charges in kidnapping investigation

Lloydminster, Alta. – On Aug. 2, 2026, Lloydminster RCMP received reports of a break and enter to a residence. Further investigation determined that, in addition to the break and enter, a kidnapping, robbery, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement had also occurred. During the course of the investigation, Lloydminster RCMP have identified the 6 individuals involved and have arrested 3 so far. 

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old, a 28-year-old and a 27-year-old all residents of Lloydminster, were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including:

• Break and enter;
• Kidnapping;
• Forcible confinement;
• Robbery; and
• Assault with a weapon.

All were released on conditions and are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster on Oct. 6, 2026.

Furthermore, a 37year-old, and a 43-year-old, both residents of Vermilion River, Alta., and a 24-year-old resident of Elk Point, Alta., have been charged with the same offences. Warrants have been issue for their arrests. 

The public is asked NOT to approach these individuals as they may be in possession of a firearm.
