Parkland RCMP responds to serious collision – Update

Parkland County, Alta. – On Aug. 13, 2026, at approximately 6:18 a.m., Parkland RCMP were dispatched to a collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck at Highway 627 between Range Road 273 and 274 in Parkland County. Upon arrival, it was determined that the motorcyclist, a 69-year-old resident of Edmonton, was deceased. The sole occupant of the pickup truck, an 82-year-old resident of Spruce Grove, Alta; did not sustain any injuries. 

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the cause of the collision is still under investigation. The scene is expected to be cleared shortly, and the roadway will reopen to traffic. 

RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of all involved.
