Athabasca RCMP responds to fatal motor vehicle collision

Calling Lake, Alta. – On Aug. 15, 2026, around 4 a.m., Athabasca RCMP responded to a hit and run by a UTV side-be-side on Corner Drive in Calling Lake. EMS arrived on scene and declared the 33-year-old resident of Calling Lake, deceased. Athabasca RCMP spoke to witnesses and were able to locate and seize the UTV. The investigation into the driver and the circumstances leading up to the collision is ongoing.

Alberta RCMP sends their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
