Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Unit charge individual after oil and gas plant break and enter

Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. – On June 21, 2026, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at the Axiom Oil and Gas plant in Lamont County.

During the incident, the suspect gained access to the property by cutting through a perimeter fence. Upon police arrival, the suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later located burned on a nearby rural road.

Officers of the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) attended the scene and, through further investigation, were able to identify a suspect. On Aug. 18, 2026, officers located and arrested 37-year-old resident of Edmonton. The arrested was also wanted on multiple outstanding warrants out of Edmonton. 

As a result of the investigation the 37-year-old Edmonton resident has been charged with:

• Break and enter a business with intent; and
• Mischief over $5,000. 

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, The individual was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton on Aug. 20, 2026.
