Wetaskiwin RCMP on scene at fire – Update #2

Wetaskiwin, Alta. – On June 6, 2026, around 8:20 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a fire at the Memorial Arts Center in Wetaskiwin, Alta. 

As the result of a thorough investigation by Wetaskiwin General Investigation Section (GIS) and Wetaskiwin RCMP General Duty, police have charged 42-year-old resident of Edmonton. They have been charged with committing Arson for fraudulent purposes.  

The individual was arrested and released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Wetaskiwin, on Sept. 15, 2026.
