Cochrane RCMP charge individual after series of break and enters

Cochrane, AB – On Sept. 23, 2026, Cochrane RCMP launched an investigation into a series of residential break and enters targeting luxury homes in Rocky View County. During the incidents, several homes were damaged after suspects forcibly gained entry. Many items were stolen, including several vehicles. Through the course of the investigation RCMP identified a suspect.
Working in close partnership with the Calgary Police Service, investigators were able to recover two stolen vehicles and execute a search warrant at a Calgary residence. On Oct. 1, 2026, Calgary Police Service officers located the suspect operating another stolen vehicle in Calgary and took him into custody.
The successful recovery of three stolen vehicles and the arrest of the suspect were made possible through ongoing collaboration, intelligence sharing, and coordinated investigative efforts between the Cochrane RCMP, Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit, and the Calgary Police Service.
As a result of this investigation a 39-year-old resident of Calgary, has been charged with:
- Break, enter and theft (x3);
- Theft of a motor vehicle;
- Possession of property obtained by crime; and
- Flight from a Peace Officer.
The individual faces additional charges laid by the Calgary Police Service in relation to separate investigations.
After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, they were remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on Oct. 6, 2026. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
