Foothills County, Alt. - On Feb. 4, 2026, emergency crews responded to a grass fire, located south of Eden Valley. Once the fire was extinguished, a burned vehicle containing unidentified human remains was located. RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.
As a result of this investigation, two people have been arrested.
A 37-year-old, and a 30-year-old both residents of Lethbridge, Alta., have been charged with the first-degree murder of.
After Judicial Interim Release Hearings and a first appearance in court on Oct. 5, 2026, both have been remanded into custody. The 30-year-old will appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Oct. 30, 2026, and the 37-year-old, in Calgary on Nov. 5, 2026
