A 49-year-old man from Surrey is dead after a collision between two trucks just north of Lytton, BC, and additional witnesses and video evidence will be crucial in determining whether the cause was criminal.

On November 24, 2025, just before 9:00 a.m., a blue northbound Kenworth tractor-trailer towing two empty flat-deck trailers collided with a southbound green Volvo tractor-trailer towing two enclosed trailers on Highway #1 on Tank Hill Bridge.

The driver of the southbound Volvo died on scene, while the driver of the northbound Kenworth, a 38-year-old Chilliwack man, was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Some key witnesses have already spoken to police, and investigators are looking into the driving behaviour of both trucks leading up to the crash,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “If you have dash camera video, or you saw either of these trucks on the road, police need to speak to you.”

Anyone who saw the collision or has dash camera video is asked to contact BC Highway Patrol – Kamloops at 250-828-3111 and quote file (2100) 2025-3960.
