BC Highway Patrol is looking for more witnesses and dash camera video to identify the driver of a flatdeck commercial truck who failed to stop for police after striking an overpass on Highway #1 in Langley.

The collision happened on March 19, 2026, at 2:52 p.m., when a white, eastbound flatdeck truck with a crane boom struck the CP Rail overpass between Glover Road and 232nd Street.

“We know that the truck stopped briefly before leaving the scene, but the driver did not meet the legal obligation to wait for police or report the incident,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “There was a small amount of visible damage to the overpass. The Ministry of Transportation and Transit was called in to make sure the overpass was still structurally safe.”

Anyone who saw the overpass strike, who has dash-camera video of the white commercial flatdeck with a crane, or who has information about the driver, is asked to call BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby at 604-526-9744 and quote file (1003) 2026-854.
