About 20 people are hurt after a shuttle bus crash on Highway #39 near MacKenzie, and BC Highway Patrol needs more witnesses and dash camera video to determine what caused the collision.

On November 4, 2026, at 9:10 a.m., police received a call about a single-vehicle collision on Hwy #39 about four kilometres south of MacKenzie. When police arrived, they found a northbound white shuttle bus in a ditch and about 20 passengers and the driver with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Multiple air and ground ambulances have been used to get the injured the treatment they need, and a complete shutdown of Highway #39 was required.

“This was a chaotic scene, and police will need time to sort out many of the details,” says Sergeant Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “We need to speak with anyone who has dash camera video of the bus, or any witnesses who saw what was happening prior to the crash.”

No arrests have been made but the cause of the crash is still uncertain. Nothing has been ruled out.

If you saw the bus in the minutes before the collision, or you have dash camera footage, please call BC Highway Patrol – Prince George at 250-649-4004 and quote file (3100) 2026-956.
