A southbound, white Kenworth tractor-trailer unit has struck the Lander Trunk Road overpass on Highway #99, and while crews work to reopen the road, BC Highway Patrol is asking for more witnesses and dash camera video.
The call came in to police on November 4, 2026, at 10:39 a.m. When police arrived on scene there was visible damage to the overpass which necessitated a shutdown of both southbound lanes on Highway #99 as well as the Ladner Trunk Road overpass itself.
“We’re working with the BC Ministry of Transportation to ensure that the overpass is safe, and we’re asking drivers to avoid the area because delays will be significant,” says Sergeant Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “If you are a witness, and particularly if you have dash-camera video of the events leading up to the collision, please call police.”
The driver of the white Kenworth tractor-trailer stopped at the scene. Police are working with Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) to determine the exact cause of the collision.
If you are a witness or have dash-camera video, call BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby at 604-526-9744 and quote file (1004) 2026-1918.
Motorists are encouraged to monitor www.DriveBC.ca to determine when roads in the area are reopened.
