This season of giving, the Burnaby RCMP is once again collecting donations to help brighten the holidays for children and those in need.

Keian’s Holiday Wish Toy Drive

Every year, Keian’s Holiday Wish Toy Drive carries on the legacy of six-year-old Keian Blundell by helping to bring joy to children facing medical challenges. Keian, who was an honorary member of the RCMP, lost his battle with leukemia in 2014.

On December 5th and 6th, Burnaby RCMP will be on site at Lougheed Shopping Centre (9855 Austin Road) collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed to BC Children’s Hospital and Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.

  • Friday, December 5, 2025 (10 AM to 7 PM) outside London Drugs
  • Saturday, December 6, 2025 (10 AM to 7PM) outside London Drugs

Donations can also be dropped off during regular business hours at our Community Police Offices until December 8, 2025. Please visit our website for office locations and opening hours.

Keian’s family also has an Amazon Wish List available for those who may prefer to donate online: Amazon Wish List

Cram the Cruiser Holiday Food Drive

Helping people in our community who are experiencing food insecurity is the goal of the annual Burnaby RCMP Cram the Cruiser Food Drive, which is held in support of Burnaby Neighbourhood House. This month, officers will be collecting donations of non-perishable food, grocery gift cards, and cash at two separate events:

  • Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Safeway Burnaby Heights (4440 Hastings Street), 10 AM to 2 PM
  • Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Superstore Metrotown (4700 Kingsway), 10 AM to 2 PM

“While many people look forward to the holidays, it can also be a very difficult time for those who are struggling, and even a small gesture can make a big difference in someone’s life,” said Burnaby RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Michael Kalanj. “It’s always so moving to see the generosity of our community, as they give what they can to help others at this time of year.”
