Project Red Serge

From applicant to cadet

BC RCMP and Yukon RCMP have launched a new recruiting process called Project Red Serge, which will allow all police officer applications from BC and Yukon to be processed, from intake to troop placement right from the division. This new process will move key early screening tools (such as the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) and indices checks) earlier in the process and will encourage greater communications between recruiters and applicants as well as improve application processing times.

Project Red Serge modernizes the recruiting process by introducing earlier confirmation of physical readiness as applicants will demonstrate their physical readiness earlier in the recruiting process, aligning fitness expectations well before training at Depot and supporting a smoother transition into cadet life. Recruiting, screening and processing functions within the application process will be interconnected; to prioritize applicant experience and to retain high quality, competitive applicants.

Why choose the RCMP?

The RCMP offers an exceptional career, letting you make a real difference in local communities and on the national and international stage. No other police force in Canada provides the levels of services and variety offered by the RCMP, as well as opportunities for continued learning and growth.
