Coquitlam RCMP’s Crime Prevention Programs
Coquitlam RCMP’s Crime Prevention Programs are based on the belief that police are most effective when engaged, informed citizens get involved in the safety of their homes, businesses and neighbourhoods. Coquitlam RCMP are supported by the largest contingent of dedicated RCMP volunteers, who help promote safety and crime prevention throughout our communities.
Coquitlam RCMP utilizes intelligence-led policing to deploy resources, including statistical information from our monthly CompStat meetings. Coquitlam RCMP pairs that strategy with a variety of community programs that are volunteer driven to contribute to community safety. Auxiliary Program
Coquitlam RCMP is excited to welcome applications to the BC Auxiliary Program, which provides trained volunteers with the opportunity to perform a variety of authorized activities that enhance community policing and crime prevention initiatives.
Block Watch
The Block Watch program is all about building safe communities one neighbourhood at a time. Participants watch out for each others' homes, share information and set up systems to help them report suspicious and criminal activity to each other and to police.
Citizens' Crime Watch
Citizens' Crime Watch is a group of dedicated individuals who serve as extra eyes and ears for the police in the community.
Community Police Office
The Community Police Office (CPO) program is a partnership between the Coquitlam RCMP and the cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam that strengthens the relationship between police and the citizens they serve.
CompStat
Bi-weekly overview of areas recommended for increased patrols. It combines data analysis, strategic problem solving and rigorous accountability to help reduce crime in our jurisdiction.
Tri-Cities Speed Watch
Tri-Cities Speed Watch is a partnership between Coquitlam RCMP, ICBC and our communities that aims to reduce the incidence of speeding and speed-related collisions by making drivers more aware of their driving habits in real-time.
2026 Junior Mountie Police Academy
Students ages 10 to 14 get a hands-on glimpse into the specialized tools, teams and exercises used by police in this unique half-day, week-long camp.
