RCMP arrest three individuals; prolific offender charged

The Codiac Regional RCMP has arrested three individuals, and a 33-year-old prolific offender has been charged in Moncton, N.B.
On January 23, 2025, the Codiac Regional RCMP were made aware of a stolen truck being driven in Moncton by a 33-year-old man who was wanted by police in connection with an ongoing investigation.
At approximately 3 p.m. on the same day, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit, the New Brunswick RCMP’s Emergency Response Team, Air Services and the New Brunswick Integrated Enforcement Unit located the stolen truck parked on MacKenzie Avenue, in Moncton. When police approached, the truck attempted to flee the area but was quickly immobilized by police. A 33-year-old man from Yarmouth, N.S., a 25-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., and a 45-year-old woman from Sussex, N.B., were arrested at the scene without incident.
Subsequent to the arrests, police conducted a search of the stolen truck and seized two loaded handguns, two sawed-off shotguns, a one-shot pistol, a rifle, ammunition, and quantities of what are believed to be fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine.
On January 23, 2025, 33-year-old Skylar Kevin Surette appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with possession of stolen property over $5 000. He was remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.
On January 24, 2025, the 45-year-old woman from Sussex appeared in Moncton Provincial Court, and was released on conditions. She is scheduled to reappear in court on February 4, 2025.
On January 28, 2025, Skylar Kevin Surette returned to Moncton Provincial Court. His hearing was adjourned, and he was once again remanded into custody until his next court appearance on February 11, 2025.
The 25-year-old man from Moncton was remanded into custody on an unrelated matter. He will appear in court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing.
