The Sussex RCMP is asking for the public’s help to identify individuals in connection with an attempted abduction in the Henderson Settlement area.

On April 21, 2025, members of the Sussex RCMP detachment received a report of a possible attempted abduction on Route 710 in the Henderson Settlement area. At approximately 5:15 p.m. that day, two individuals had approached a child that was riding a bike and tried to lure the child into their vehicle by offering the child candy, but the child ran to a neighbouring house. The two individuals left the scene in a black 4-door Subaru, possibly an Outback, with tinted windows, a sunroof and signs of rust on the front passenger bumper. The vehicle was travelling towards Cambridge-Narrows.

Police are now seeking the public’s help to identify the individuals involved. The passenger is described as a man, possibly in his mid-thirties with a muscular build, goatee with no moustache, and curly hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing blue sunglasses and a green t-shirt with yellow on it. The driver is described as a woman, with light-coloured shoulder-length curly hair.

Anyone who may have seen a vehicle matching this description in the Henderson Settlement or Cambridge-Narrows areas on April 21, who may recognize the occupants of the vehicle based on the descriptions provided, or who may have a security camera or dash cam footage from the time of the incident, is asked to contact the Sussex RCMP at 506-433-7700. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
