The St. George RCMP has arrested a 37-year-old man with an outstanding warrant following a routine traffic stop in Pocologan, N.B.
On June 15, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the St. George RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Macarthy’s Point Road in Pocologan. A rental van was stopped as part of the traffic enforcement and the driver was identified as having an outstanding warrant of arrest for assaulting a police officer and was also prohibited from driving in Canada.
When the police officer notified the man of his arrest, the driver resisted and drove off, almost hitting the officer. The man continued to drive in a reckless and careless manner into oncoming traffic and police initiated a pursuit out of concern for public safety.
Shortly after, the driver turned onto Seven Mile Lake Road and eventually lost control of his vehicle. The individual then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. A 37-year-old man from Saint John was arrested and taken to hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist, the RCMP Police Dog Service, and members of Ambulance New Brunswick also attended the scene.
On June 15, 2025, 37-year-old Jeremy Matthew Booker, appeared in Saint John Provincial Court by way of tele-remand and was charged with assaulting a police officer with a weapon, flight from police, resisting arrest, prohibited driving, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He was remanded into custody pending his future court appearance.
The investigation is ongoing.
