Update: Missing 34-year-old man

Update, July 27, 2025: The Shediac RCMP is continuing to seek help from the public to locate a missing 34-year-old man, from Shediac. “The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team and Ground Search and Rescue teams have been searching tirelessly the last couple of days and have covered a lot of area with no success,” said Cpl. Mathieu Daigle of the Shediac RCMP. “At this time, these teams have concluded their searches but will continue to follow up on any leads we may receive.” The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information that may help locate him is asked to contact the Shediac RCMP at 506-533-5151.

The Shediac RCMP is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 34-year-old man from Shediac, N.B.

He was last seen on July 24, 2025, between 1 and 2 p.m., in his Kayak on the water off the Shediac Coast. He had left to go kayaking from the wharf in Pointe-du-Chenes, N.B., but has not returned. Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate him but have so far been unsuccessful. Police and his family are concerned for his wellbeing.

At this time, a number of resources and specialized policing services have been deployed to assist with searching for Luc Bourgeois, including the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, a Search and Rescue helicopter, Ground Search and Rescue, and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.
