A 62-year-old man from Tracadie and a 31-year-old man from Stymiest, N.B., have died following a two-vehicle collision in Cocagne, N.B.

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the Shediac RCMP detachment received a crash notification from a cellphone, indicating a motor vehicle incident on the bridge crossing the Cocagne River, on Route 11. A short time later, an individual called 911 to report the collision.

When members arrived at the scene, they confirmed that a head-on collision had occurred, and the drivers of each of the two vehicles died at the scene as a result of their injuries. One passenger was transported to hospital with what are believed to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene and is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.

Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Cocagne and Saint-Antoine Fire Departments, and the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene.
