RCMP seeking public’s help following assault

Update, March 17, 2026: Police would like to provide an update on the assault that occurred in Atholville. Although the incident took place on December 30, 2025, police were only notified on February 11, 2026. The individual is now suffering from life‑threatening injuries.

The Campbellton RCMP is asking for the public's help following an assault in Atholville, N.B.

On December 30, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Campbellton RCMP received a report than an assault had occurred at a provincial park on Val D’Amour Road, in Atholville. 

When police arrived at the scene, it was learned that a man was assaulted by another individual who had since left the scene. The man suffered what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The individual is described as a Caucasian man with a short beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing black clothes, white snow googles and had a white snowboard. 

Police are asking the individuals who witnessed the assault to contact the Campbellton RCMP at 506-789-6000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
