61-year-old man dies following single-vehicle crash

A 61-year-old man from Central York Rural Community, N.B., has died following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in Apohaqui, N.B.

On March 15, 2026, at approximately 11:52 a.m., members of the Sussex RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in Apohaqui, N.B.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 61-year-old man from Central York Rural Community, was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died as a result of his injuries. 

Members of the Norton Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene. An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
