Police seized six firearms, including one loaded shotgun, drug, stolen property and arrested two men in connection with a theft investigation in Summerville, N.B.
On April 2, 2026, members of the Hampton and Grand Bay-Westfield Detachments, along with the Southeast Community Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Milkish Creek Road in Summerville, N.B., in connection with the investigation.
As a result of the search, police seized six firearms, including a loaded shotgun, a quantity of what is believed to be cocaine, two stolen all-terrain vehicles, a motorcycle and a trailer, as well as thousands of dollars worth of tools.
During the operation, police safely arrested a 44-year-old man, and a 25-year-old man, both from Summerville. The 44-year-old man was remanded into custody until his court appearance scheduled for April 7, 2026. The 25-year-old man was later released from custody on conditions.
On April 7, 2026, 44-year-old Frederick (BJ) Raynes appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with:
-possession of stolen property over $5000 (5 counts)
-unsafe storage of firearms
-unauthorized possession of firearms
-breach of a probation order
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on April 23, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
