A recent RCMP traffic enforcement operation in the Southeastern region of the province has resulted in 97 tickets being issues and 11 vehicles being towed.

Between March 26 and April 6, 2026, members of the Grand Bay-Westfield, Hampton, and Sussex Detachments conducted a traffic enforcement operation in the southeastern region of the province.

In total, 97 tickets and 200 warnings were issued, 11 vehicles were towed, 9 individuals were issued licence suspensions for alcohol consumption, 4 suspended drivers were charged, 2 individuals were charged for fleeing police, and one was charged for impaired driving.

"The success of this initiative is reflected not just in numbers, but in the reduction of risk on our roads and the increased safety for every driver and family," said Constable Mike Rowsell of the Hampton Detachment. "Road safety enforcement will continue in the area and remains a priority."

The NBRCMP appreciates its partnership with the Department of Justice and Public Safety who also assisted during this operation.

The public can also assist in keeping dangerous drivers off the road by reporting them to police. If you see a dangerous or a suspected impaired driver, call 911. Your description of the driver, vehicle, licence plate number and direction of travel can assist police in making New Brunswick roads safer.
