Individual charged with child luring, police looking for other possible victims

A 33-year-old man from Campbellton, N.B., has been charged in connection with an investigation into child luring.
In November 2023, members of the Campbellton RCMP were made aware of a report involving child luring in the Campbellton area.
In May 2025, members of the Campbellton RCMP, assisted by the Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Duke Street, in Campbellton. Several digital devices were seized by police as part of their investigation.
On May 14, 2026, members of the Campbellton RCMP arrested a 33-year-old man as part of the investigation. The man was remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.
On May 19, 2026, 33-year-old Morgan Cooling-Lamontagne appeared in Campbellton Provincial Court and was charged with:
- three counts of accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
- two counts of exposure of genital organs to a person under 16-years-old
- two counts of sexual assault
- two counts of making sexually explicit material available to a child
- two counts of sexual interference
- two counts of luring a child
- invitation to sexual touching
- uttering threats against a person
- making, dealing or possessing instruments for forging a credit card
Throughout their investigation, it was learned that the man may have committed similar offences involving other individuals. This is still an active investigation, and police are working diligently to determine if there were other victims.
Morgan Cooling-Lamontagne may have used two aliases, MOMO and POOKIE, to contact underage children via social media.
