RCMP seeks public assistance to identify individuals following suspicious activity at the border

Update, August 24, 2026: The RCMP Federal Eastern Region Border Integrity Unit is no longer seeking the public's assistance in relation to two individuals believed to be involved in suspicious activity reported near the Canada-United States border. Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter.

Update, August 18, 2026: The RCMP Federal Eastern Region Border Integrity Unit in Saint-Leonard continues to seek the public's assistance in identifying and locating two individuals believed to be involved in suspicious activity near the Canada-United States border.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are releasing new photos of the individuals in the hopes that someone may recognize them and provide information that could assist investigators.

Police believe the individuals may have illegally crossed the border into the United States and returned to Canada using a train trestle on the evenings of May 8, May 15, and May 30, 2026.

Anyone who recognizes the individuals or has information about their identities or activities is asked to contact the New Brunswick RCMP at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267).

The RCMP Federal Eastern Region Border Integrity Unit in Saint-Leonard is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals involved in suspicious activity near the Canada-United States border.

The incident occurred on May 30, 2026, when two individuals were seen were seen walking along the border.

Police are now releasing photos in hopes that someone may recognize the individuals. 

Anyone who recognizes the individuals in the photo, or who has information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the NB RCMP at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267). The RCMP would also like to remind the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity near the border to police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
