The Neguac RCMP has arrested a man following the seizure of drugs and drug paraphernalia as part of an investigation on Esgenoopetitj First Nation, N.B.
In October 2025, the Neguac and Tracadie RCMP began a drug investigation on Esgenoopetitj First Nation.
On June 9, 2026, at approximately 4 p.m., members of the Neguac and Tracadie RCMP arrested a 53-year-old man at a residence on Lawrence Crescent on Esgenoopetitj First Nation, as part of the investigation. Four other individuals were arrested but later released.
Subsequently, with the assistance of Police Dog Services and Community Crime Reduction Unit, police searched the residence and the vehicle and found what is believed to be cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking items.
The 53-year-old man from Esgenoopetitj First Nation was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
New Brunswick RCMP is committed to reducing the supply of controlled substances in our communities and to deterring persons from engaging in drug trafficking through ongoing enforcement efforts.
The investigation is ongoing.
