17-year-old boy dies following single-vehicle crash

A 17-year-old boy from Utopia, N.B., has died following a single-vehicle crash near Lepreau, N.B.

On June 24, 2026, at approximately 6:41 a.m., members of the St. George RCMP detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 1, near Lepreau. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver of the vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and rolled over several times. 

Members of the Musquash Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene. 

A New Brunswick RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the boy’s exact cause of death.
