Items seized in New Brunswick

The Codiac Regional RCMP has seized hundreds of stolen STIHL products from a retail business in Moncton as part of an investigation into property stolen during a major theft in Ontario.

In February 2026, nearly $650,000 worth of STIHL equipment was stolen from a business in London, Ontario.

On June 17, 2026, a representative from STIHL contacted police after identifying what was believed to be stolen merchandise being offered for sale at retail stores in Moncton, N.B., and in Summerside, Charlottetown and Montague, P.E.I.

On June 23, 2026, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from Codiac Regional RCMP General Duty officers and RCMP officers in Prince Edward Island, executed four search warrants simultaneously at the identified businesses.

The searches conducted at the Moncton and PEI locations resulted in the seizure of hundreds of STIHL products believed to have been stolen during the February theft in London. The estimated retail value of the items recovered is approximately $20,000.

“The recovery of stolen property like this demonstrates the value of strong partnerships between police agencies, businesses and the public,” says Cpl. Luc Picard of the Codiac Regional RCMP. “Working together across provincial boundaries allows us to disrupt property crime and help return stolen property to its rightful owners.”

The investigation remains ongoing and police continue to examine how the property came into the possession of the businesses. The Codiac Regional RCMP is working closely with the London Police Service as the investigation continues.
