The Campbellton RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify two individuals in connection with an incident that happened in the Charlo River at the Levesque Bridge in Charlo, N.B.

On June 20, 2026, the Campbellton RCMP detachment received several reports of a video that was circulating online depicting two individuals intentionally driving a car into the Charlo River near the Levesque Bridge. One of the individuals then climbs on top of the submerged vehicle, and the other individual climbs into the trunk.

Police are now releasing stills from the videos in hopes that, despite the quality, someone may recognize the individuals. The first individual is described as a man with a slim build, a buzz cut, and wearing all black. The second individual is also described as a man with a slim build, wearing a navy-blue t-shirt and a baseball cap. The vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet Aveo.

Anyone who recognizes the individuals in the photos, who witnessed the incident, or who has information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the Campbellton RCMP at 506-789-6000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
