28-year-old man dies following two-vehicle collision

A 28-year-old man from Esgenoôpetitj First Nation, N.B., has died following a two-vehicle collision in Esgenoôpetitj First Nation, N.B. 

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 12:58 a.m., members of the Neguac RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Peter’s Road in Esgenoôpetitj First Nation.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) failed to stop and collided with a vehicle. 

The driver and sole occupant of the ATV, a 28-year-old man from Esgenoôpetitj First Nation, was transferred to hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries. On July 5, 2026, he died in hospital from his injuries. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured. 

Members of the Neguac Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist also attended the scene. Both vehicles have been sent for a mechanical inspection.
