The Codiac Regional RCMP is seeking the public's assistance following an incident of mischief in Moncton, N.B.
The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between August 7, 2026, and August 12, 2026, at The Honour Garden, on Assomption Boulevard, in Moncton. One or more individuals stole a bronze maple leaf from a RCMP monument.
"This memorial holds tremendous significance for the Codiac Regional RCMP and the citizens of Moncton, " says Inspector Jonathan White from the Codiac Regional RCMP. "It stands as a lasting tribute to three of our fallen members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their communities. The theft of this bronze plaque is deeply concerning and disappointing, as it represents far more than a piece of metal. It is a symbol of remembrance, respect, and gratitude. We are asking anyone with information to come forward and help us restore this important monument."
