Man charged following series of events

A 28-year from St. Stephen, N.B., has been charged, following a series of events in the community of St. Stephen, N.B. 

On September 3, 2026, at approximately 10:56 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP responded to a report of a single all-terrain vehicle crash on Route 3 in Old Ridge. A 28-year-old man, driver and sole occupant of the ATV, fled the scene prior to police arrival. 

When police arrived at the scene, it was learned that the driver of the ATV allegedly made threats with an edged weapon towards other individuals before leaving the scene. No injuries were reported at the scene of the collision. 

Shortly after, police received reports of the driver of the ATV causing a disturbance outside of the Charlotte County hospital, including damaging the property and vehicles parked nearby. At approximately 12:45 a.m., on September 4, 2026, members of the St. Stephen RCMP located and arrested the man on Route 5 in St. Stephen. An edged weapon was seized during the arrest as part of the investigation. 

On September 4, 2026, 28-year-old Travis Leroy Fishwick appeared in Saint John Provincial Court and was charged with mischief, failure to stop for police and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in Saint John Provincial Court on September 8, 2026, for a bail hearing.
