The Codiac Regional RCMP seeking public’s help following shooting incident

The Codiac Regional RCMP is seeking information from the public following a home invasion in Moncton, N.B., that resulted in a woman sustaining serious injuries.

On September 5, 2026, at approximately 10:21 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion at a residence on Marsh Street in Moncton. Two masked men entered the residence, during which a firearm was discharged and a woman sustained a gunshot wound. 

The victim was transported to hospital, where she remains and is believed to be in critical but stable condition.

It was quickly determined that this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Police also believed that the individuals involved were known to one another.

The investigation is ongoing.
