Man dies following collision between vehicle and pedestrian

A 47-year-old man has died following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Lakeville, Westmorland, near Moncton, N.B. 

On October 11, 2026, at approximately 4:06 a.m., members of the Shediac RCMP detachment responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Route 15, near kilometre marker 22, in Lakeville, Westmorland. 

The collision is believed to have occurred when the vehicle, travelling eastbound, struck the pedestrian. The man, a 47-year-old from Shediac, N.B., died at the scene as a result of his injuries. No other injuries were reported at the time of the collision. 

Members of the Moncton Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, the New Brunswick RCMP’s Forensic Collision Analysis Team, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure and the Coroner's Office attended the scene. 

Route 15 was closed for approximately six hours while investigators processed the scene but it has since reopened. An autopsy has been scheduled for the deceased. 

The investigation remains ongoing, however criminality is not believed to be a factor.
