With its policing partners, the New Brunswick RCMP has rescued an individual from the woods following a call for service near Pabineau Lake, N.B.
On October 31, 2026, at approximately 4:47 p.m., members of the Chaleur Region RCMP detachment received a report of an individual who was lost in the woods near Pabineau Lake.
Police arrived on scene a short time later along with a New Brunswick RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), Police Dog Services (PDS), and members from the province’s Department of Justice and Public Safety.

“The New Brunswick RCMP would like to thank those who assisted during this call for service. At times, it doesn’t take much exposure to the elements before it threatens a person’s wellbeing,” says Sgt. Jean-François Dulac with the Chaleur Region RCMP. “The RCMP remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in need of help.”
The New Brunswick RCMP’s Air Services and the Chaleur Region Ground Search and Rescue were also scheduled to assist, however the individual was safely located before they attended.
