Additional charges laid against Winnipeg resident charged for uttering threats against Prime Minister, and Jewish and Muslim Communities

On March 30, 2026, the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region’s National Security Enforcement Section in Manitoba laid three additional charges against a 55-year-old Winnipeg resident.

Jason Paul Rindall, who was already in custody, has been further charged with:  

  • Advocating genocide contrary to section 318(1) of the Criminal Code; 
  • Wilful promotion of hatred contrary to section 319(2) of the Criminal Code; and, 
  • Uttering a threat to Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney to cause death contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.  

Rindall remains in custody and is scheduled to make his next appearance at the Winnipeg Provincial Court on April 24, 2026.
