The Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit (SWN MCU) has charged a second man with First Degree Murder in relation to the homicide of Steven Boudreau.

Boudreau was reported missing from Hopewell on April 19. Officers determined his disappearance was suspicious, and the SWN MCU assumed responsibility for the investigation. Boudreau’s remains were recovered in May.

On May 20, SWN MCU, assisted by the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services, safely arrested 29-year-old Cody Reid Palmer in Torbrook. He was charged with First Degree Murder.

The investigation has continued and on June 22, 36-year-old Travis Shaun Jennings, from Kings County, was safely arrested by the SWN MCU at a residence in East Dalhousie. He is charged with First Degree Murder and had a first court appearance on June 23 at Kentville Provincial Court. Jennings remains in custody.

He is also charged with Kidnapping as part of this investigation. A different victim is associated to this charge.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-365-3120. To remain anonymous, call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca, or use the P3 Tips App.
