Eskasoni RCMP Detachment has charged five people with attempted murder in connection with a serious assault that occurred in Eskasoni.
On July 4, at approximately 12:30 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of an injured man on the roadway near the intersection of Mickeys Ln. and Shore Rd.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the assault, RCMP officers executed search warrants at two residences on Logan Dr. on July 10. Two people were arrested, and officers seized evidence from the properties.
On July 13, a youth was arrested at the Eskasoni Detachment. Later in the morning, officers executed search warrants at two additional residences and seized further evidence. Two other people, both youths, were arrested at the homes.
Evander Alexander Marshall, 20, and Frederick Junior Knockwood, 18, both of Eskasoni, along with three youths, have each been charged with Attempted Murder.
Marshall and Knockwood appeared in Sydney Provincial Court on July 13. The three youths will appear in Sydney Provincial Court on July 14.
Eskasoni RCMP is leading the ongoing investigation with support from Forensic Identification Services and Digital Forensics Services.
