Arviat RCMP charges suspect in property damage investigation

On March 27, 2026, the Nunavut RCMP published a news release, asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person in relation to a property damage investigation in Arviat, Nunavut. The investigation was aided by a video that was circulation on social media, where it showed an individual in the area of the incident on the night of March 25, 2026. 

Shortly after the article was published, a person contacted the Arviat RCMP and identified himself as the suspect. 

The Arviat RCMP have charged, Thomas Aggark (age 41) with Mischief, contrary to Section 430(4) C.C. 

Aggark was released from custody, and his first court appearance is scheduled for August 11, 2026, in Arviat, Nunavut.
