Iqaluit RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying person of interest

On June 29, 2026, the Nunavut RCMP published a news release asking for the public’s assistance for information related to a fire investigation. The investigation began on June 25, 2026, when police responded to a report of a shack fire at the West 40 area of Iqaluit, Nunavut. 

Police suspect this was an arson. Police have obtained a photo of a person who was in the area at the time of the fire and believe the person captured in this image may have information that is important to the investigation.
