Inuvik RCMP investigating homicide

Officers in Inuvik are investigating a homicide that was reported Thursday, October 30, 2025.

On October 30th at approximately 9:33 p.m. Inuvik RCMP received report that a person had been killed at a business on Industrial Road.

Officers attended the location and took the lone suspect, a 45-year-old male, into custody without incident.

The victim, a 38-year-old female, was located at the scene. Officers performed lifesaving efforts until the arrival of paramedics, however she was taken to hospital and pronounced deceased.

Additional resources, including G Division RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Services have been deployed to the community.

It is believed that the suspect and victim were known to each other. The suspect remains in custody. The Northwest Territories Coroner’s Service has been engaged.
