Yellowknife RCMP arrest suspect after tour bus stolen

A person has been charged after Yellowknife RCMP recovered a tour bus reported stolen last week.
On March 7 at approximately 1:16 a.m. Yellowknife RCMP received a report that a tour bus had been stolen from a gas station after it was left running unoccupied.
Officers located the vehicle less than an hour later in a parking lot, where it was contained by police vehicles. The bus backed into a police vehicle before coming to a stop. The driver was arrested without further incident.
As the driver exhibited signs of impairment by drug, she was transported to hospital where blood samples were obtained for further analysis.
The suspect, 39-year-old Kayla Crozier of Yellowknife, has been charged with:
• Theft of a motor vehicle, contrary to section 333.1(1) of the Criminal Code
• Mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code
• Operation of a conveyance while impaired by drug, contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Operation of a vehicle with a suspended licence, contrary to section 119 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Kayla Crozier was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody. No injuries were reported as a result of this matter.
