UPDATE: RCMP respond to a plane crash near Fort Simpson

In the evening of June 24th, 2026, the Fort Simpson RCMP responded to a plane crash approximately 50 km of Fort Simpson. The aircraft was a fixed wing Turbo Commander 960 Bird Dog 104, with three people on board.
The RCMP have confirmed that the three occupants are deceased. The NWT Coroner Service is engaged and investigating. The RCMP is assisting in recovering the occupants.
The RCMP would like to express their sincere condolences to the families and community members affected by this tragic accident.
