Drug paraphernalia and cash were seized after two separate Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants were conducted in Inuvik on October 3rd, 2026.
The search warrants were executed by the Territorial Crime Reduction Unit (TCRU), with support from the Inuvik RCMP and Emergency Response Teams from the Northwest Territories and the Yukon, following an investigation.
During this investigation, the TCRU formed grounds to believe that drug trafficking activity were being carried at two locations.
On October 3rd, a first CDSA search warrant was carried on Bompas Street, where RCMP located and seized approximately approximately $5000 in cash, mobile devices, a firearm and drug paraphernalia. Three suspects were arrested, and two released without charges.
At the second location on Bonnetplume Road, the RCMP located and seized approximately $1000 in cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two occupants were arrested and later released without charges.
As a result, Iqbal Singh Dulay, 33, from Delta, BC, has been charged with:
• Trafficking of Substance 1 - Cocaine, contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code
Iqbal Singh Dulay was also under an outstanding warrant from Surrey, BC. He has been remanded into custody.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be brought at a later date.
In addition, as part of a separate investigation, the Inuvik RCMP executed an arrest warrant on October 1st against Anthony Ashby, a 27-year-old man from Ladysmith, British Columbia.
Ashby is wanted in the Yukon on various charges, including breaking and entering, assault with a weapon, and robbery. Anthony Ashby was taken into custody and transported back to Whitehorse.
These two investigations once again demonstrates the commitment of the Inuvik RCMP and our specialized units to curb illegal activity in the community.
