SPOTLIGHT

Feb. 5 – Senior RCMP officers joined local community leaders and Candie Pritchard’s family at a press conference on Feb. 5, urging anyone with information about her death to come forward. Information can be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com. Full release here.

Feb. 18 – Officers set up tire deflation devices for a stolen semi-truck driving dangerously on a highway near North Battleford. During the incident, additional responding officers kept other drivers a safe distance away. The driver was arrested and multiple charges were laid. Full release here.

Feb. 19 – Officers responded to a break and enter in progress. Upon arrival, they tracked one suspect in the snow and arrested him. A second suspect was located hiding inside the residence’s fridge and was also taken into custody. Multiple charges were laid. Full release here.

OUR COMMUNITY

During the week of Feb. 23, Corporal Brewer of the North Battleford First Nations Community Policing delivered an anti‑harassment presentation to Grades 4–9 at Sweetgrass School for Pink Shirt Day, covering what harassment and bullying look like and how to stop them. Corporal Brewer and Constable Fontaine also visited Saulteaux Heritage School to provide support and answer student questions about Pink Shirt Day.

On Feb. 27, Corporal Bell and Constable O’Hara attended the Headstrong Youth Summit in North Battleford. The one‑day event focused on promoting mental wellness and building leadership skills among youth in the community. The two officers engaged directly with students, spending the day in conversation, answering questions, and offering guidance and support.
