Fentanyl and cocaine seized in Moose Jaw and Swift Current by Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT

Saskatchewan RCMP’s Saskatchewan Enforcement Response Team (SERT) charged four adult males after fentanyl and cocaine were seized at properties in Moose Jaw and Swift Current, SK in relation to ongoing investigations.

On March 9, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT arrested an adult male after illicit drugs and a prohibited firearm were seized at a residential property in Regina, SK. The drug trafficking investigation remained ongoing. As a result, on April 10, 2026, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT obtained and executed a search warrant at a hotel on Diefenbaker Drive in Moose Jaw, SK.

During a search of a room inside the hotel and a vehicle at the property, officers located and seized approximately 245 grams of fentanyl, 72 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two adult males were arrested at the hotel property.

21-year-old Shobhit and 22-year-old Ritik are each charged with:

• one count, trafficking – fentanyl, Section 5(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• one count, trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
• one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code. (Information #90490333).

Please note that Shobhit and Ritik each only have one name.

Shobhit and Ritik are scheduled to appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on April 16, 2026.

Later that same day, Saskatchewan RCMP’s SERT executed a search warrant at a unit in an apartment building on Robert Street East in Swift Current, SK.

Officers searched the unit and two vehicles at the property, locating and seizing approximately 282 grams of fentanyl, 556 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Two adult males were arrested at the residential property.

21-year-old Ankit Ankit from Niagara Falls, ON and 25-year-old Rohit Deshwal from Mississauga, ON are each charged with:

• one count, trafficking – fentanyl, Section 5(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• one count, trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act;
• one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
• one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code. (Information #90542488 and #90542489).

Ankit Ankit and Rohit Deshwal appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on April 15, 2026.

Moose Jaw and Swift Current RCMP, Moose Jaw Police Service, and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team and Police Dog Services assisted in the execution of the search warrants and the apprehension of the male suspects.
