Yukon RCMP appeal for information in homicide

The Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit (MCU) is asking the public for information related to the murder of Tyler William Maloney.

Tyler “Will” Maloney, was reported missing by his family on August 11, 2025. Based on their ongoing investigation, police now believe that Will Maloney was murdered. MCU are looking for individuals who may hold key information that could help bring resolution to his family and friends.

Will Maloney arrived in the Yukon in the spring of 2024 and was known to frequent the downtown Whitehorse area. He did not have a fixed address and was moving between locations while staying with acquaintances. The last confirmed sighting of Will Maloney was October 21, 2024, in Whitehorse, Yukon. Police believe he was murdered shortly thereafter.

Tyler “Will” Maloney had ties across several regions, including New Brunswick, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.

Description:

  • Caucasian male
  • 30 years old
  • Approximately 5 ft 5 in tall
  • Approximately 230 lbs
  • Heavy build
  • Short brown hair, has been known to have a beard and moustache
  • Blue eyes, has a condition called a ‘lazy eye’ (amblyopia) in the right eye
  • Tattoo on his forehead above his right eyebrow that reads “Nefarious” 

The Yukon RCMP would like to extend their condolences to Will Maloney’s family and friends at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Yukon Major Crime Unit at 867‑667‑5555 or contact your local detachment and you will be put in contact with a Major Crime investigator.
