Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate homicide - Update 2

Edmonton, Alta. - In January of 2026 the 55-year-old resident of Cold Lake, stood trial for the murder of a 40-year-old resident of Cold Lake, in The Court of King’s Bench of Alberta. On March 6, 2026, the 55-year-old individual was found guilty of second-degree murder by Justice Kent J. Teskey. 

The 55-year-old remains in custody, and the matter has been set over to April 10, 2026, for a sentencing date to be set.
