Alberta RCMP MCU investigates sudden death in Valleyview - Update

Valleyview, Alta. – Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) has made an arrest in the murder of 38-year-old Valleyview resident, which took place on April 9, 2026, around 11:30 p.m. Thanks to help from the public, Alberta RCMP MCU identified and arrested Valleyview resident a 27-year-old. They have been charged with second-degree murder. The individual was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on April 13, 2026.

Alberta RCMP MCU are still gathering evidence with regards to this investigation. They are hoping to speak with the driver of a semi-truck who was passing in the area when the altercation occurred. RCMP would like to speak with the driver in order to obtain potential dashcam footage. A picture of the truck has been attached to the release. The driver, or anyone who may know who the driver is, is asked to please contact the Valleyview RCMP at 780-524-3345.
